South Africa’s George Airport has become the first on the continent to be powered by solar energy.

George Airport’s brand new 200 square meter solar power plant will meet 41% of its energy demand.

CostingĀ  a little over than a million dollars to build it is part of South Africa’s commitment to introduce a mix of energy soucres to all its airports.
